Our Story

Mary and I were born into good Christian homes. My parents had grown up across the street from each other and were both singers. My mother grew up singing with her sisters while my father sang in a quartet during his high school years. I was raised in a good denominational church and at the age of eight received the Lord as my personal savior. For over a decade, we traveled all over the Midwest as my parents sang in a quartet with another couple. Southern Gospel music still has a big place in my heart.

My dad answered the call to preach when I was in 9th grade. That was over 45 years ago, and he and my mother are still preaching today in their 80’s. During my senior year in high school, I felt the Lord tugging on my heart. Just a few months before my high school graduation at the age of 17, I too answered the call to preach in a small Baptist church my father pastored in southeast Missouri.

Then something drastic happened a few months later. My parents were baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. That changed everything. Within a few months we moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 1, 1977. I was in my freshman year of college and transferred to Oral Roberts University. Seeing the awesome change in my parents after being baptized in the Holy Ghost and taking Holy Spirit classes at ORU, I was hungry for more. So, on the third Saturday night of January 1977, I was filled with the Holy Spirit at a Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship.

While attending ORU, I found myself at evening meetings open to the public at Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma when they had special speakers. I knew in my heart that I was supposed to be there, so I attended Rhema for the next two years and graduated in 1980.

Mary was raised in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In her early years, her mother took her and her four sisters to the Baptist church where she was born again at the age of seven. A few years later, her mother woke up speaking in tongues and had to ask her father what it was. He, being raised in the Assembly of God Church, explained that she had been baptized in the Holy Spirit. Shortly thereafter, the entire family began attending the Assembly of God Church where Mary was spirit filled as a teenager.

She was brought up under the Word of God through the ministry of Kenneth Hagin Sr. and Oral Roberts. We met during her senior year of high school while she attended Grace Fellowship School in Tulsa. We were both youth camp counselors…I was smitten. She was singing in a trio, and I sung from time to time in a trio with my father and a friend. She thought I could sing, thus I caught her.

After our graduations, we got married. We did not go into full-time ministry although we have always served in the church in some capacity. We began by serving as children’s church pastors and youth pastors. We also worked in the nursery and ministered to young adults over the years. We taught Bible studies and Sunday School classes. We were all about church and family. We raised three children serving in church on the Word of God. All three are now in the full-time ministry with their spouses.

In 2011, after successful careers in the secular world, the Lord impressed upon us to devote more time to the ministry to which we had been called many years earlier. I retired early to serve more in church. In 2013, the mission field called, and we have been traveling and ministering ever since.

We see so many people try to find their calling in life and the Kingdom of God. I believe that if people will do what they know to do and serve God by serving others (usually in the local church), their calling will find them. It happened to Moses while he was keeping his father-in-law’s flocks. It happened to David as he tended his father’s sheep. Elijah found Elisha working, plowing a field. All the disciples were working when the call came to them.

After faith battles in late 2013 and 2014 ending with victory over cancer, Mary joined me in our teaching ministry with an emphasis on healing. Little did we know that the enemy would launch his biggest and most hideous attack at the end of 2015. Mary was diagnosed with terminal, incurable, inoperable cancer on December 31, 2015. She was given ten months to live.

Of course, she didn’t die. She was healed. See her full healing testimony. It’s good news! What he’s already done for her, he’s done for you.

If you believe that we can be an encouragement to your church, ministry or family, we would be honored to share the Word of God with you.
